North Carolina legalizes use of silencers for hunting

silencer silencer
We at Shotem and Caughtem just learned that North Carolina has made the use of suppressors while hunting legal throughout the state. Though we are sure that someone will abuse this act of kindness we feel some things should be pointed out. First silencers for any weapon are highly regulated. They require a lenghty background check that can take over a year. Once in your possesion they must be used only by the owner and can only be transfered to another individual through another lenghty process and a license dealer. If caught in possesion without the appropriate documents the fine and punishment is pretty severe. Also, it is incredibly expensive process so many of those in possesion of a silencer not only protect their property but due to the stigma associated with them guard even possessing such an item. Let us know you feeling on the subject in the comment section below and get your hunting gear ready for the season is almost upon us.
